StressGuard is the premium slime layer protection product. StressGuard will reduce stress and ammonia toxicity whenever fish is handled or transported. StressGuard binds to exposed proteins in wounds to promote healing of injured fish and reduce the likelihood of primary and secondary infections. StressGuard is compatible with all medications except those with a copper base. StressGuard is not amine based and will not interfere with the regeneration of Purigen or HyperSorb. StressGuard does not coat resins or obstruct seepage as competitive “sludge layer” products can. What makes StressGuard very successful in healing is the fact that it contains active protein colloids. This active protein colloidal agent actively seeks out any wounds, abrasions or places where exposed proteins are found and attaches itself to this area to help directly deliver the disinfectant into the product and begin the healing process. This active colloid protein, because it binds to exposed proteins, also acts as a liquid abrasion bandage. Some products are marketed to be tossed in the bag when you buy a fish. These products are generally acidic, and some brands are very strong acid. Putting such a product in a small, closed container with a fish often does more harm than any intended good. StressGuard has a pH of 7.0. It will not affect the pH of an aquarium, even in large doses. There are no other products on the market that can compare to the effectiveness of StressGuard.
